WHAT MAKES ME A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL

I feel, I have a strong awareness of the drawbacks and strengths of school life. I help the faculty and students in being progressive and outgoing in school and all the innovations and progressive ideas are encouraged. I feel like a steward of the ship.

MY MISSION AS A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL

The title would be an acknowledgment of one’s endeavors. I would use it for the intrinsic development of the school and all that it entails. I feel that humane qualities and in-depth development and ethical values are to be encouraged.

LEARNING BY DOING

The students are encouraged and scheduled to make projects related to their curriculum. Expeditions are continuously made to explore and learn by seeing e.g. to NASA, Dubai, Spain, France Bangkok etc. The school has also experimented with practical learning to be part of the social scenario by visiting spastic children, planting plants and giving vital, messages through Rallis and Street plays.

INTEGRATED CURRICULUM 

The faculty of DPS Kalyanpur, has a good understanding that the school has a strong belief in the intrinsic in-depth development of the students and Ethical Values are inculcated in them by the instructions and setting an example to be followed.

INTEGRATION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP INTO EDUCATION THROUGH FACULTY

Here at DPS Kalyanpur, the students are given vocational training via the subjects taught in the school like fashion designing legal studies, psychology etc. The future lies in creating the interest for entrepreneurship in young age. They are made to attend programmes in IIT to have awareness and promote the interest in the entrepreneurial ways. The faculty encourages students to participate in subject oriented programmes. 

PROBLEM SOLVING & CRITICAL THINKING AMIDST THE FACULTY 

The problem solving and critical thinking amidst the faculty is strong. I am very emphatic that the students should be treated as part of DPS family and patience and understanding is to be applied. Also the root cause of their problems be known to tackle their misconduct or misunderstanding.

GROUP WORK AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL SKILLS AMIDST THE FACULTY

The faculty has often been made to attend workshops on social agendas like to promote social skills. The counselors and teachers together have a strong sense of group work during all times, even during the moments of events and competitions besides day to day work.

UNDERSTANDING & ACTION BASED LEARNING

I am against Rote learning. So I encourage learning where students are made to be creative in imagination and pen down their own thoughts. Spoon feeding and same kind of notes which hamper the development of the imaginative skills are never encouraged by me. 

COLLABORATIVE & COOPERATIVE LEARNING PROJECTS FOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

I see to the collaborative and cooperative learning projects for faculty development as we have repeatedly attended promoting programmes of DPS Society. Also the informative ones of ICRTC meant for students and faculty both in Kanpur and outside it. Added to them the informative and educative programmes of CBSE and its workshops are periodically attended by me, by faculty and students. 

EDUCATION ACCENTUATING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SAFEGUARDING DEMOCRACY 

My faculty is given liberty of thought and expression. The healthy environment of holding group discussions is given and airing their opinions is encouraged, for I believe the differences if any in opinion are all important and when aired innovatively new perspectives sometimes are seen coming out. So healthy and open discussions and meetings are held from time to time.

DESIGN & DELIVERY OF A LEARNING ECOSYSTEM WHEREBY HIGHLY PERSONALIZED LEARNING ACCOUNTING IS DONE FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL’S PERSONAL GOALS

I am very particular about assessing each individual’s potential and calibre. The area in which the strength of the individual lies is awarded with the suitable responsibility. The individual appraisal is done based on their performances and their growth in the institution is assured. The goals of the individuals are kept in mind. 

INTEGRATION OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS INTO THE DAILY CURRICULUM

I have the belief that service to community and projects related to service learning are of Paramount importance. The faculty and students on daily basis are encouraged to promote community service through Nukkad Nataks Rallies etc. Also they are taken to the underprivileged children to help them by giving essential goods to, and by instilling in them the sense of cleanliness and love and care to spastics and abandoned orphans. 

FUTURISTIC SELECTION OF SUBJECT CONTENT 

I am very particular about vocational learning and encouraging foreign languages. The subject contents is ethical and personality growth is is also part of the curriculum. The school sees that Swachh Bharat and Earth Day are religiously done to promote the well being of Future Society.

As far as the my role for this is considered, I have updated the view that the student and the faculty should be well apprised about the skills needed in future society. To ensure this we have, in DPS Kalyanpur teaching of foreign languages like Japanese, German, French etc and computers are taught right down the line to the students. We are as always aware of global village concept, so have enhanced ourselves by becoming a partner school with British Council. The students and faculty visit NASA and foreign locales. The awareness and realization of them has helped in their growth and perception of wider arena of education.  

LIFELONG LEARNING AND SOCIAL SKILLS OF FACULTY MEMBERS

I see myself as a steward of the DPS Kalyanpur ship, steering the faculty through the choppy seas and making them more confident and strong. The vocational training subjects like psychology, fashion designing, legal studies etc. have the potential promoting, social skills. The lifelong learning process is everlasting, but the workshops and seminars on behaviours pattern and dealing with students of all categories make the learning comprehensive and promotes lifelong learning and social skills of my faculty members. 

FACULTY ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION OF THEIR INNOVATIVE PROJECTS & PRODUCTIONS

The faculty is appointed through a proper interview and reviewing of their Resume. Their assessment is done periodically. Appraisals are done on an yearly basis and the yearly reports submitted which is very encouraging for the teachers and promotes goodwill amidst them.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY TO FACULTY EMPOWERMENT

As the principal I have always felt that I am the head where trust and confidence is to be the essential ingredients of the position I hold. The duties are assigned impartially based on the caliber and aptitude. The self-discipline in faculty is considered as an essential ingredient. The faculty can work on individual basis. I motivate them and strongly implement the ideas beneficial to school and its growth.
