WHAT MAKES ME A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL
I believe in creating future generation of India with more responsible, sensible, holistic and skillful manner. I provide lots of opportunities and exposure to the young children to nurture their talents and use their full potentials for their individual growth, community growth, country’s growth and global growth. I am a passionate worker, innovator, explorer, good team maker, effective leader and through these qualities I try to impact my team of teachers and the students to be progressive.
MY MISSION AS A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL
Each award and recognition make me more committed and motivate me more to contribute still better of me to the students, teachers and parents communities. For a sincere teacher a small appreciation takes a long way to have a better impact on society. This also will make my teachers, students and parents to feel good and many teachers to follow my footstep to be more focused and committed to the vision of future education.
LEARNING BY DOING
We follow International Curriculum with CBSE. I facilitate learning by doing through experiments, practicals, collaborative projects, expeditious learning, field trips, trekking, cross country practicals in Lab, seminars, presentation, dramas, street play, collaborative teaching, role play, surveying, researching, data collection, interviewing, organizing etc.
INTEGRATED CURRICULUM
For e.g. while teaching cricket lesson to Grade IX on the ground with the help of cricket coach by making girls and boys to play and understand the game. Teachers sit together, discuss with each other for collaboration and decide that for which topic they need the help of which teacher accordingly they decide about the integrated curriculum where English, Maths, Science,Social Science aspects to be covered while teaching one unit.
INTEGRATION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP INTO EDUCATION THROUGH FACULTY
We have a club called Business Club, our students are taught how to have the development of Entrepreneurship quality as the teachers include it in the curriculum. They organize activities like making chocolates and greetings to their friends on birthdays, organizing food fest, generating fund, making Rakhis and envelops and selling them, generating fund around Rs. 200,000/- which was collected and given for Behtar India. Another Rs.300,000/- was given to Habitat India for building toilet for poor. We have created our fund which is kept in bank to generate interest to sponsor poor intelligent students for sports or co-curricular activities.
PROBLEM SOLVING & CRITICAL THINKING AMIDST THE FACULTY
Students and Teachers are always trained to come with solution rather than problems. They are never encouraged to bring only problems, they are asked to come with two ot three solutions. It helps them to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. Teachers also created the situation and ask solution from the students.
GROUP WORK AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL SKILLS AMIDST THE FACULTY
I keep training teachers for team building and group work and provide lots of professional training for the teachers to develop their social skills. Teachers are groomed on day to day basis on social skill. We have regular group activity for the staff conducted by staff club.
UNDERSTANDING & ACTION BASED LEARNING
Teachers are trained continuously and lesson plans are observed to bring change in teaching. Subject enrichment training & creative teaching training is imparted on a regular basis to the teachers by professionals. Classes of the teachers are observed and are given feedback from time to time for reforming their teaching by helping them add a lot of activities improving the learning of students.
COLLABORATIVE & COOPERATIVE LEARNING PROJECTS FOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT
CBSE- Centre of Excellence has conducted various workshops on collaborative and cooperative learning. My teachers are well versed about the collaborative project, just recently we have finished our collaborative project on different states of Maharashtra with its Culture, Food, Sports, Geography, Famous Places etc.
EDUCATION ACCENTUATING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SAFEGUARDING DEMOCRACY
In our school the motto is learning without fear. Students as well as teachers are treated as responsible individuals. Before any decision is taken we have debate and discussion. Everybody’s expression and thought is respected and finally on the basis of approval of majority a decision is taken. Regarding students, if any decision needs their involvement, we take the opinion of students council or entire school during assembly by asking them to raise their hands.
DESIGN & DELIVERY OF A LEARNING ECOSYSTEM WHEREBY HIGHLY PERSONALIZED LEARNING ACCOUNTING IS DONE FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL’S PERSONAL GOALS
We have the goal of improving each and every child in their learning. The coordinator and the subject teachers make their goals for developing each child as per the requirement, accordingly remedial classes and extra classes for the students who needs very personalized attention are arranged throughout the year. It is made sure that the goal of the teacher for the improvement of each child in his learning happen.
INTEGRATION OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS INTO THE DAILY CURRICULUM
Our students visit the orphanage and elderly homes on a regular basis to entertain them with music, drama and prayers. As part of the curriculum they develop the Botanical Garden of the school. As part of projects they count the number of plants in campus and oxygen generated from them.
FUTURISTIC SELECTION OF SUBJECT CONTENT
I tend to select the subject content in such a manner that the local, regional, national and global level requirements of the future generation is meted out in terms of skills pertaining to communication, writing, listening, technology, social, interpersonal, cooperative, collaborative, problem solving, thinking, innovative, inquiring, questioning, exploring, computing, presentation etc.
LIFELONG LEARNING AND SOCIAL SKILLS OF FACULTY MEMBERS
I give emphasis for the lifelong learning of our faculty encouraging them to learn everyday something new from students, environment, support staff, and their own colleagues. Most of them they have enrolled for a Ph.d, MBA or some of kind of an online certification courses from Cambridge or IB.
FACULTY ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION OF THEIR INNOVATIVE PROJECTS & PRODUCTIONS
We have a monthly assessment regime for the faculty to check the innovation in their work. They are asked to guide the students in various projects. Looking at their ideas and innovation, they are appreciated with certificate, trophies and recognition. Even the correction work and activities of the teachers are evaluated on a 5 point scale.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY TO FACULTY EMPOWERMENT
I have created many leaders. One of my strengths is in creating more leaders by empowering them. Many of my teachers today are heading many schools. I believe in the principle of learning by doing. At each level I empower teachers starting with Class Teachers, Class Coordinator, Head Mistress, HoD, Vice Principal and Principal. Our school with 4000 students and 300 teachers is well managed with individual attention to each child because of teachers empowerment. Each teacher is free to take decision at a given point.
