WHAT MAKES ME A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL

The progressive Principal bears the duty of not only executive officer of the school district, but also carries the highest fiduciary duty to the children and families of the community. Therefore, the progressive principal must possess the many skills of a communicator, a leader, a lawyer, a teacher a counselor, a mediator, and a decision maker. By degree and by experience, i am trying to qualify for all of the above and welcoming the opportunity and challenges being Principal come across.

As public educators, I work with and represent the two most important assets that our community has to offer: its children, and its trust. It is highly imperative to be forthright, honest, and a straight talker. This is the only way to create and maintain public confidence in our school district. I have been serving in many capacities from classroom teacher to Principal.

These experiences created the foundation of my abilities to listen to and understand people.

Beyond my degrees, I still value common sense greatly and above all else. My father told me, "Common sense is the most precious thing you can ever own and even the best education cannot take its place. I believe him more each day.

I gladly put myself to work to further the interests and benefits of our community. I believe every person has an important story to tell and every person is well worth listening to and hearing.

MY MISSION AS A PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPAL

My career has taken me through all levels of school from pre-school and the primary grades through junior high and high schools as well as the adult education level. I have learnt that passing knowledge to the children and engaging them in rote learning, is not teaching therefore we are facilitating and encouraging the students in constructing their knowledge at their own and they try to reinvent it. Our objective is to engage them in finding which has not been written so far, not discovered so far in other words to do something new. As a progressive principal, I always try to update my teachers and to take them to the plateau of learning, if it is possible at all, and to see them, as they walk in the shoes of Principal.

As a progressive principal I wish that people must be recognised how smartly are they doing the work, not by the position of the work. In other words, to understand the dignity of work and the importance of respecting all people by the quality of their being instead of their outward trappings, professional stature, and appearance.

I want to see my school an ideal foundation, a moquette confederation of the sine qua non edification and expertise. Which produces denizen of the future. To give a clear vision to my school that is based on the bedrock of discipline and indoctrination. Our primary aim is turning as to encourage each student to be a self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, positive human, a well-rounded character with an independent mind, an individual who respects the differences of others. It has always been our venture to fulfill this insusceptible time with maximum input of work. The solid foundation is also laid along with punctuality and discipline. We aim at a harmonious growth of the physical, the mental, the intellectual and the spiritual dimension for all round development of personality. By the time she/he leaves the school, we want each student to have that true sense of self-worth which will enable him to stand up for her/himself and for a purpose greater than her/himself, and, in doing so, to be of value to society. Every aspect of a child personality has to be developed along with the pursuit of academic knowledge so that our students are endorsed with a strong foundation in ethical and moral deportment. The aim is to bring about qualitative change in the lives of the students who will form the backbone of the society and raise the nation to a glorious zenith.

Walk the talk

Think big and act boldly. This statement means a great deal to me. We must act. We must often times be impatient. We must make decisions.

Our children demand it — time pushes them through our schools so quickly that there is no time to waste! It is fair to characterize me as a take charge, hands-on manager who is bold enough to take risks and make difficult decisions to benefit children. We can all do things and we must not shrink from what must be done.

Collective success is built upon individual success and satisfaction. Our people must be motivated and have high morale. The sources of these cannot be simply monetary. They must come from a motivated leader with a proven ability to energize staff to reach higher goals and levels of excellence.

Our children are our greatest blessing and our only hope for the future. I consider myself to have gone beyond child centered to being child focused, committed to the full development of all children. On a personal level, I believe in high moral standards, personal ethics, and integrity.

We attempt to model these attributes for our children.

School – a community Leader

The schools exist first, foremost, and only for the children. We cannot forget this. They must be safe, they must be challenged, they must be motivated, loved, and cherished. They must be given the best we can find. We must want our students to be the most successful person in the country. Our students will live their lives and earn their livings in the 21st century in a world we can only imagine. We must work very hard to assure that their needs are met.

A word with my students, “Place yourself among those who carry on their lives with passion, and true learning will take place, no matter how humble or exalted the setting. But no matter what path you follow, do not be ashamed of your learning. In some corner of your life, you know more about something than anyone else on earth. The true measure of your education is not what you know, but how you share what you know with others.”

“The Woods are lovely, dark and deep; But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.”
